A Vipassana retreat with focus on the qualities of the heartJoin us for this in-person retreat in the beautiful setting of Mandali Retreat Center in Northern Italy, sitting high on a hilltop with sweeping views of Lake Orta and the mountains.
We will tend to the heart and mind with compassionate mindfulness and strengthen our connection with ourselves and each other, with time for enjoying nature, deep rest, and practice surrounded by nature. During this weeklong silent retreat, we will learn to slow down and attune to the fresh simplicity of our present moment experience, rest in stillness, and connect with the heart's inner capacity for healing and freedom.
Together we will explore some of the supports for presence: letting go of distraction, the deliberate cultivation of simplicity and contentment, and a renewed sense of connection with our own bodies, hearts, and minds in community. By bringing mindful attention to our moment to moment experience, we can learn to cultivate resilience amidst change and grow in awareness, love, and wisdom.
For this particular retreat, we will also be developing the Brahma Viharas, the four qualities of an awakened heart: Lovingkindness, Compassion, Appreciative Joy and Equanimity. The structure of this Vipassana retreat includes guided meditation on each Brahma Vihara with Q&A each day, time for silent sitting and walking meditation periods, rest, mindful eating instruction, Dharma talks, and small group practice discussion meetings with the teacher.
This silent retreat meets the requirements for you to train as a MBSR/MBCT and MSC teacher and is led by Christiane as a Vipassanaretreat.
We will alternate periods of sitting meditation with walking meditation in the beautiful surroundings. We will also practice soft yoga and body scanning.
PRACTICAL INFORMATIONBoth beginners and people with previous meditation and yoga experience are welcome.
The retreat starts with a dinner on arrival. We hold a presentation where we also have the opportunity to greet each other before we go into silence together.
We start with a common meal on arrival at 17:00. On the day of arrival we present the schedule for the retreat. The course ends with brunch on the same day as the course ends and we are finished around 11:30-12:00.
