Why take the Journey
The heart is how we perceive depth. When it is open, an ordinary day has beauty in it, and life has meaning we do not have to argue for. This is not sentiment. It is a way of knowing, as real as thinking.
The heart is also where we get hurt, and when the hurt is enough, we move up into the mind and stay there. From that distance, we still function; we can even look kind, but the world flattens. The mind sorts good and bad, right and wrong, and kindness becomes an effort: to be a good person, to hold it together, to not feel too much.
When someone is generous, we call them compassionate. When someone is cruel, we say they have lost their humanity. To be in the heart is not a spiritual extra. It is what makes us real human beings.
Beyond the Mask of Personality
We often mistake being ourselves for our personality traits. Beneath the habits and the social masks lies something gentler and more robust. Kindness is innate. It is not the effort to be good, but a gentle love that arises on its own, the way you already know how to hold a child who has fallen. The playfulness drops, and something tender takes its place. It happens by being human.
In the Sufi tradition, this is named the Green Latifa, the door to the heart, the place a real human being lives. When it opens, people often feel a quiet warmth toward themselves, toward life, toward others. Meaning returns. Beauty returns. You can see a life from the inside again.
This is compassion, not the kind that avoids pain or patches over the wound. Real compassion meets what you carry with tenderness. It gives the hurt space to be. The healing comes from inside what was broken, not from outside judgment. As the hurt heals, we stop projecting our emotional history onto the people around us and stop recreating the same painful situations.
As the heart opens, something unexpected appears. The capacity to be vulnerable is your actual strength. To feel deeply, to see the beauty in an ordinary day, to be present with your own heart and with the heart of another- this is what allows the soul to grow. We become complete human beings again, vulnerable and magnificent.
This retreat is a deep dive into the Green Essence, so you can stay with your own experience and live from the heart instead of only thinking your life.

During these five days, we will explore:
You are already Whole
The Diamond Logos Teachings offer a precise and compassionate map of what we are beneath our conditioning. The core idea is simple but radical: we are not broken people trying to become better. We are essentially whole beings who have learned, out of necessity, to live at a distance from ourselves.
The patterns we develop to navigate life, what we call our personality, are better understood as a layer of conditioning that sits between us and our deeper nature. Beneath it lives a set of essential qualities: presence, joy, clarity, strength, love, will, and others. These are not achievements to be earned. They are aspects of what we already are. They do not need to be built. They need to be uncovered.
The Green Latifa is one of them. And in our experience, these qualities do not become real through understanding them. They become real when something in us remembers them.
The Experience
This is not about learning a theory. It is an embodied shift. Through daily guided inquiry, movement, and stillness, we learn to meet what is here with kindness. A down-to-earth process for those who are ready to live from the heart, not only think about it.
Over these days, we return to the heart and to what we have survived. We become whole again, not perfect, but complete. Open. Here.
This retreat is facilitated by Emilio Mercuriali, a senior teacher of the Diamond Logos, founded by Faisal Muqaddam.
