Join us for this rare opportunity to spend a week with His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche, the head of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Rinpoche will share a week of teachings from the unbroken linage of yogis that extend back to the 10th century Indian female adept Niguma. He will teach the meditations, breathing, yoga postures, illusory body yoga, and dream yoga from Niguma. Rinpoche will teach, in the most accessible way to all levels, the Niguma Series of yoga poses. This is a chance to learn from the lineage master and receive his personal insight, dharma talks, and transmission of these powerful practices.

Michele will guide the morning Hatha Yoga stretching and strengthening sessions to be able to access the Niguma series more readily. She will also share evening Yoga Nidra sleep meditations to support our healing and transformational journey together.

This is a week of understanding the body as an essential pathway to awakening and happiness. It is receiving the gift of a sustainable daily lineage based practice. And it is a week of making long-lasting friends, being nurtured with gourmet vegetarian Italian food, surrounding oneself with nature, hiking, relaxing, and recovery, in this Italian lake village countryside setting.

His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche was born in 1990 and recognized by H.H. the Dalai Lama and H. H. the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa as the tulku, or rebirth, of Kalu Rinpoche (1905-1989), a renowned Buddhist meditation master and scholar who was one of the first Tibetan lamas to teach in the West. The current Kalu Rinpoche completed his traditional three-year retreat between 2004 and 2008, supported energetically by the practices of the Niguma Trulkhor cycle. Rinpoche now teaches Niguma Yoga around the world to cultivate awareness of the psychological basis of effective spiritual practice and to promote physical and mental well-being.
