How does it feel to be vibrantly alive & breathing? Join our Wholeness in Healing retreat at Mandali, to introduce your being to the treasures that our body & breath have to offer. Through the Healing Arts of Energy Embodiment – QiGong & KumNye – come to discover the joy of being within true relaxation!

Mandali is pleased to present the ‘Wholeness in Healing’ retreats, held by our beloved teachers Mario Santoni and Gijs Fermie. In the upcoming years, during the spring and autumn periods at Mandali, they will propose a progressive program of QiGong and KumNye practices.

Both of these body-mind disciplines incorporate exercises of conscious-movement, breath-work and open-awareness, which cultivate vital force and healthy harmony. As long term practitioners, Mario and Gijs each have a wealth of know-how to offer, and they weave their respective specialties seamlessly together into a wholesome flow.

Anyone genuinely interested in working with their subtle-body-energy-system is welcome to join our gatherings, and delve deeply into this precious treasure that we all have within us. Through the transmission of these transformative training tools for formal practice and daily life, may we all come to embody the calm, clear and creative potential of our inner being’s natural state.

QiGong – Six Healing Sounds

The art of QiGong falls within the disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine, and we can define it as ‘gentle gymnastics’. It benefits our health in a preventive and curative way, through cultivating a flow of refined nourishing energy in the meridian system.

“Qi” is often translated as “life-force-energy”, and in some contexts as “breath”. Within the human body this breath becomes the essential energy for vitality.
“Gong” can be translated as “the ability to master”, or simply as “work”, involving a devoted commitment to cultivate Qi, with patience and perseverance.

The Six Healing Sounds is a set of physical exercises, techniques of breathing and concentration, and the emission of sounds, whose harmonious vibrations are purifying and tonifying the vital function of our organs, energy and awareness. This sequence allows for the circulation of vital energy, with the aim of preventing, dissolving and/or correcting imbalances. It supports our immune system, a sound stress resilience, and overall well-being, bringing more joy into our life.

KumNye – Balancing & Integrating

Kum Nye is a holistic path of balance and integration, combining essential elements of movement, massage and meditation within a single discipline. These gentle yogic exercises, based on the Tibetan (Buddhist) medical tradition, relieve stress and promote the deep relaxation necessary to experience the full benefits of meditation.

In feeling the flow of revitalizing energy that induces the expansion of our presence in space, this artful approach is both a natural healing aid and a means for awakening our so-called ‘body of knowledge’.
In this retreat you will learn to taste and embody the wide open relaxation of Kum Nye, and the guidance offered will inspire and support you to establish a balanced daily practice to integrate back home.

As Kum Nye leads to the integration of body, energy and awareness in all our activities, this inner relaxation has a vital and lasting quality that increases our enjoyment and appreciation of life. When we acquire the skill to open our senses and touch our feelings directly, all of our experience can light up and our lives will grow more harmonious.

Breathwork & Inquiry

In addition to the principle practices of QiGong and KumNye, we will also incorporate complementary sessions of breath-work and self-inquiry as tools for personal growth.

Circular Breathing is a powerful method used to revitalize and re-awaken blocked energy built up over time. It is deeply healing, and activates a process that purifies bodily tensions, negative emotions and limiting thought patterns resulting from unresolved events. Consequentially, we can open up to living with more vitality, clarity, creativity, enthusiasm, and confidence. Breathing that is carried out in a conscious and circular way can help us bring it back to its natural function, integrating our human experience with pure awareness.

Inquiry is an intimate process of sharing which helps us explore ones authentic feelings, develop the ability to communicate ones truth, and investigate fundamental questions of existence.
